The 2011 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series celebrates its 10th year.  Races are scheduled  April thru September and are a variety of distances.  Participants score points in two categories; their age group and overall male or female. The goal of the race series is to help motivate individuals to stay healthy and stay running.  WHO IS ELIGIBLE? You DO NOT have to be a member of the Lynchburg Road Runners (LRRC) to participate. However, registration discounts are given to LRRC members.  RUNNERS QUALIFY FOR SERIES AWARDS & RANKING BY PARTICIPATING IN NO LESS THAN 4 RACES BY AUG. 1ST.   (Race Directors for a series event are eligible having completed 3 series races by Aug. 1st.) The more race series races you complete, the more points you can accumulate. HOW ARE POINTS AWARDED? Points are awarded for each Overall placing and each Age Group placing as follows. 1st (50pts.), 2nd (45pts.), 3rd (40pts.), 4th (35pts.), 5th (30pts.), 6th (25pts.), 7th (20pts.), 8th (15pt.), 9th (10pts.), 10th (5pts.).  Points are awarded  to a place regardless of whether or not a runner has qualified for the series. Placing beyond 10th receives 1 point.  WHO GETS AN AWARD? Awards are given to the top 3 overall male / female and top Masters (40 yrs. old and up). Awards are given to the top 3 male/female in each age group. A special award will be presented to those that complete all 9 races. A presentation is made at the November  meeting of the Lynchburg Road Runners. Award recipients who can not attend the awards presentation have until December 31, 2011 to pickup their awards. HOW MUCH DOES THE SERIES COST? The 2011 Lynchburg Road Runners Race Series does not cost anything additional to the entry fee charged for each race.
